Volunteer

Anne and Sharon – just two of our amazing volunteers!

At Saint Joseph’s Shankill we are so lucky to have amazing volunteers giving their time to help us care for our residents and day care attendees with dementia.

There are roles for volunteers from all walks of life, with all kind of skills.  So we would love to hear from you.

Volunteer Roles available at the moment are:
Activities and Hospitality Volunteers and Day Trip Volunteers

Activities brighten people’s day, stimulate memories and learning and ensures socialisation and interaction between all our residents living with dementia. Or we need volunteers to accompany us on our days out as we visit local amenities is always lots of fun!

Entertainers

Do you play a musical instrument or are you a singer? Do you have a talent that could entertain small or large groups of people? Perhaps you are a magician or a poet, a juggler or a ventriloquist or maybe you simply enjoy tickling the ivories and making tunes. If you have a talent and would like to share it with our residents, why not volunteer with us today?

Fundraising Volunteers

Can you assist the Fundraising Manager in organising events, administration of the events and establishing connections with corporate donors / companies? Do you know companies or people that would like to help a local organisation making a real difference in the lives of people with dementia?

Administration and Reception Volunteers

Administration volunteers will be required to use their IT skills and administration skills to assist us with the office jobs of Saint Joseph’s Centre. If you think you could spare some time to help us during the day, we certainly can give you plenty to keep you busy!  Or do you have a winning smile? Are you welcoming and hospitable? If so, this is the perfect volunteer role for you – come and be a part of the team of volunteers who welcome visitors and families to Saint Joseph’s Centre every day, outside of office hours.
