An Afternoon of Song

Living well with Dementia and Saint Joseph’s Shankill, present an ‘Afternoon of Song’ on Sunday

7th of April at 3.00pm in Foxrock Church, Kill Lane, Foxrock, Co Dublin

 

This concert is not only in aid of, but will also showcase the repertoire of the Living Well with Dementia Sweet Memories Choirs, choirs open to all and specifically supportive and welcoming to people living dementia.

 

Also providing entertainment on the day will be;

 

The Ballinteer Gospel Choir

 

Students from Oatlands College

 

Glencullen / Dundrum Musical & Drama Society

 

And performances from Gerry Noonan, Patricia Dolan, Kylabelle McKinney

 

Tickets are available in advance from Memory Harbour, Clonskeagh; Southside Partnership, Main Street Blackrock or Saint Joseph’s Shankill, Crinken Lane, Shankill and also at the door on the day.

Or online at HERE. The cost is €10 per person and it is recommended to come early and bring a cushion!    The Afternoon of Song will begin at 3.00pm with the Sweet Memories Choirs kicking off the proceedings.

 

The LWwD currently have two choirs one which takes place in St. Raphaela’s Convent on Saturday mornings, and the second which is run in partnership with Saint Joseph’s Shankill, where people living and attending Day Care in Saint Joseph’s, and people living in the community come together in song every Tuesday afternoon.

The HSE Living Well with Demen­tia (LWwD) programme is an award-winning initiative which develops and delivers innovative services and supports to people living with dementia and their families in their communities.

 

Saint Joseph’s Shankill is the only care home in Ireland solely dedicated to dementia care; their vision is to lead the way in dementia care in Ireland through innovation, education and community engagement.  In late 2018 Saint Joseph’s Shankill won the NHI Excellence in Dementia Care award.
