Our Respite Care Service offers people living with dementia the chance to come and stay with us ‘full board’ as they stay for two weeks.

At the same time their loved one who is caring for them at home can take some time for themselves and recharge their batteries!

If you would like to avail of some respite relief, the first step is to contact your Public Health Nurse.  This is usually done through your GP or you can contact them directly.

The Public Health Nurse will send a written referral to us.

Your main contact with us in St Joseph’s will be our Director of Nursing, Sinoy Allyboccus, or one of our Clinical Nurse Managers Sarah Kuntz or Ai Leen Chiu.

When we receive the referral, we will contact you directly to arrange an assessment of your needs.

Your assessment will be carried out in your home at an agreed time and date convenient to you.

Once this is completed and everyone is in agreement that St Joseph’s is suitable to you for respite stay, we will arrange specific days for your respite care to take place.

You’ll find further information about our Respite Care Service here.
